Retro Insults

The other day in the pub, I called my friend a ‘pillock’. It brushed over and nothing odd was thought of it until the next morning when the excerpt repeated itself in my head and made me laugh. It begs a few questions: Who says that anymore? What possessed me to say it? What does it actually MEAN? I remember being told that ultimate primary school jibe ‘pratt’ actually means pregnant fish… but how is that insulting?

So anyway, I have decided to revive the non swearing insults of old by compiling a list of my favourites (in no particular order):

1. Pratt

2. Wally

3. PLUM (but only as a  phrase ‘YOOOOU PLUM’)

4. DIV

5. Plonker

6. Plank

7. Donkey

8. Pillock

9. Donut

10. Pleb
