Laura Gibson

In support of Peggy Sue was a gentle spirited lady from Portland, Oregon by the name of Laura Gibson. Her songs had an earthy, dark fairy tale feel to them, citing tales of love, loss and drawing upon natural elements as metaphor. She’d offer up kitsch anecdotes from a life on a tour bus, like how they’d figured out anagrams of their names ‘Eagle Vision’ was her drummer Seans; hers was ‘Sugar Angel’, which raised a giggle. You can detect an underlying sadness in her soothing voice, but it is graceful and accompanied by some delectable instrumentation.
