An Interview With: Myself
In the spirit of teen magazines past, and perhaps also inspired by generic band interviews, I decided to interview myself. Here are some interesting (ish) facts about me:
Melissa Joan Hart. As Clarissa, she was my style inspiration- the jazzy leggings teamed up with denim shorts- that was my look back in the summer of 1994. Sigh.
First single you ever bought:
The Childliners, The Gift of Christmas. I bought it for 49p (reduced, from the bargain bucket in Martins) in January 1996.
All Time Heroes: Debbie and Stevie.
Empire Records, hands down. Also, Big and most things John Hughes, i.e. Ferris Bueller, Uncle Buck, Home Alone… Yep.
Favourite artists when you were 10:
Alanis Morissette, Spice Girls (of course), Blur, Suede and so on. An interesting mix. (odd child. )
Fave song to scream and go mental to:
Hole- Violet. RAAAAAAAAAAR
Fave hangouts in London:
Give me a jukebox with Slayer on it and I’m there.
Do you play any instruments?
I play the guitar appallingly. I’m trying to think of a name for one I have recently been handed down.
Teen celeb crush:
Zach Morris. HELLO.
Current celeb crush:
Bryan Ferry, Graham Coxon, Stephen Malkmus. What?
Biggest ‘cringe’ moment:
Mantra for life:
‘Be nice, and don’t show your bum’- Geri Hall
Best piece of advice you’ve ever been offered:
‘You can only be yourself” – my very wise mother.
Everything. Anything chocolatey, made with a lot of cream and butter. Apple crumble and custard. No boozey cakes though. Yeeshk!
Golly, right. Off the top of my head: La Roule, Applewood smoked cheddar, Brie.
I can’t resist a good headbang, if I’m merry enough and the music is right.
