Reminded of this whilst listening to the splendid ‘Nod Factor‘ playlist by Raf Daddy. (via Mixcloud)

Fiction – Careful

This is fun. It has a rather playful rhythm to it and I like how deep his voice is- (in my head) I envisage him making alluring lip curls when he annunciates certain vowels. Maybe he even has slicked hair and wears drainpipes and brothel creepers. He probably doesn’t.

Never Not Good: Public Enemy – He Got Game

I got game, she got game, we got game, they got game, you got game.

So spring has sprung and the sun is out, and Buffalo Springfield ‘For What Its Worth’ comes ont radio and prompted me to hunt for this gem (didn’t take long, obvs). Not that I’ve properly inspected it for miserly dark undertones or anything, but this for me is very sunshine- appropriate OR I spose ‘sunshine hip hop’ if there were to be a genre. Which there probably is.

On repeat.

Tracks What I Like…

Stuff that happened today: I went to to Rough Trade, listened to some tracks off a few albums, and on my way home was asked by some kid with a stack of flyers if I was from South London. Pffft. He swiftly apologised. Anyway, of what I listened to in store, the latest from White Rabbits and Three Trapped Tigers were my faves. Tbc.
